About FWC
FWC provides expertise in water resources planning, water licence permitting, and hydrology. Through water consulting, strategic planning, and technical delivery, we support clients in navigating regulatory, operational, and environmental challenges.
Our work is underpinned by water resources modelling, data analysis, technical reporting, and project management — with a strong focus on producing clear, decision-ready outputs. We have led and contributed to projects assessing water system performance, flood and drought risk, groundwater sustainability, and climate change impacts.
Our technical toolkit includes GIS and hydrological modelling, integrating catchment data, flow records, and asset information to support evidence-based planning and resilience strategies. This work has informed strategic interventions in the UK, Chile, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
Water worth protecting.
What we do
From securing consents and building evidence through modelling, to strategic consulting — we support clients at every stage.
Technical coordination, regulatory support, and integration of hydrological and environmental evidence to support abstraction and transfer consenting.
Ranging from deployable output modelling, options appraisal for strategic resource options, and yield assessments — providing the technical evidence base for planning and investment decisions.
Independent assessment, strategy, and technical advice on water availability, project management, and resource planning at catchment and regional scale.
Selected projects
Assessment of groundwater sustainability in one of the world's most water-stressed environments, supporting evidence-based planning in the Atacama Desert, Chile.
Technical coordination and regulatory support for a water transfer licence application, integrating hydrological and environmental evidence to support consenting.
Hydrological modelling to support drought permit applications, providing the technical evidence base for operational decision-making under water stress conditions.
